Philippines Tourist Destination - Cagayan Valley (Region II)

The Aglipay Caves are as much as 20 meters deep, located at Barangay Villa Ventura in the town of Aglipay. It has both open chambers and crawl spaces, with a variety of stalactites, stalagmites, and other geological formations. The 6th cave is especially fascinating, as a subterranean river and waterfall with an unknown source can be found here. It has cool water and is suitable for swimming. Insect-eating bats make the caves their habitat.
The Sierra Madre national park in northern Luzon is the country's largest natural park. Sierra Madre is the longest mountain range in the country. The 359,000-hectare park is the home of endangered species such as pawikan, bayakan or giant bat, Philippine eagle, wild boar, Philippine brown dear, cloud rat, flame-breasted fruit dove, kalaw, bukarot, and native owl.
The beautiful town of Mahatao lies in the central part of Batan Island the main island in Banates, nestled at the foot of three hills: Majorojoron on the north, Naidi on the south and Langud on the east. It is bounded on the north by Basco, on the south by Ivana and Uyugan, on the east by Madi Bay/Philippine Sea/Pacific Ocean and on the west by Mahatao Bay/China Sea. It covers an approximate land area of 1,300 hectares or 13 square kilometers.
     Callao Cave is one of the limestone caves located in the Municipality of Peñablanca, Cagayan province. The seven-chamber show cave is one of 300 caves that dot the area and the best known natural tourist attractions of the province. Callao and the other caves are situated in the western foothills of the Northern Sierra Madre Mountains
          Palaui Island is located in Santa Ana, Cagayan, and it is made up of volcanic debris, lying between the South China Sea and the Pacific Ocean. It is a protected area having been declared as National Marine Reserve in 1994, abundant in wildlife, marine life and timber. With only a small community living in the island, it is largely uninhabited. It is politically under the jurisdiction of Sta. Ana and it is home to a small fishing community.
